About Me
My name is Raoul and I started playing tennis at age 7. I enjoyed the sport so much that I received full support from my parents. I started to play tournaments and quickly shot up the junior ranks. Instead of attending a regular high school near my home, I enrolled in a special sports boarding school in Germany. After graduating I applied for and received a full tennis scholarship at Murray State University. Upon graduation, I took an assistant tennis coach job at the University of Arkansas, which has set the stage for the rest of my tennis coaching career.
Teaching Style
My specialties are teaching left-handed players as I am left handed myself. I like teaching slice serves. In addition, my expertise is to create results while motivating the student and making it fun. I'm able to achieve improvement regardless of skill level by properly identifying students' root problems. My teaching emphasis is to teach proper technique and fundamentals to achieve maximum results.I structure my lessons as follows: Introduction (5 min) -- getting to know the student and finding out what they want to accomplish is essential prior to starting the lesson. Building the skill (20 min) -- finding out the root problem and providing the right solution. Applying the skill with a drill (20 min) -- testing the skill with a feeding drill or live-ball drill. Thrill (10 min) -- finish the lesson with a fun game utilizing the skill learned. Summary (5 min) --summarize what we have worked on and emphasize important points.
