About Me
William, "Liam", is a semi-professional pickleball player, pro coach, and PPR Certified Coach with a diverse competitive sports background that includes professional pickleball, collegiate table tennis, and high school lacrosse. He is a silver medalist and has competed in the Franklin US Open Pickleball Championships on two occasions. His experience as both a player and coach allows him to help athletes develop their skills, improve strategy, and build confidence on the court.
As an ambassador for multiple brands within the pickleball community, including Gearbox Sports and Udrippin Grips, Liam is passionate about growing the game and sharing his knowledge with players of all ages and skill levels. His favorite shots are the Erne and the Nasty Nelson, showcasing his creative and aggressive style of play.
When he is not coaching, Liam hosts his podcast, *The Erne*, where he talks all things pickleball, from strategy and training insights to stories from the court and the growing culture of the sport.
His teaching style is energetic, detail-oriented, and adaptable to each player’s needs. He focuses on breaking down complex concepts into simple, repeatable actions while emphasizing footwork, court positioning, and smart shot selection. Liam balances technical instruction with real-game scenarios, helping players not only understand what to do, but when and why to do it. He creates a positive, competitive learning environment that pushes athletes to improve while keeping the game fun and engaging.
Whether working with beginners learning the fundamentals or experienced players preparing for competition, Liam is dedicated to helping every student reach their goals while enjoying the game of pickleball.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is energetic, clear, and highly adaptable to each player’s needs and goals. I focus on breaking down skills into simple, repeatable steps so players can build confidence quickly and apply what they learn in real game situations.
I emphasize fundamentals like footwork, positioning, and consistency while also teaching advanced strategy, shot selection, and decision-making under pressure. My sessions balance technical instruction with live play so athletes understand not only how to execute a skill, but when and why to use it.
I create a positive but competitive environment where players are pushed to improve without feeling overwhelmed. Every lesson is tailored to the individual, whether they are learning the basics or preparing for high-level tournament play.
